GridGuide : (Institute of Physics Belgrade)

The Insitute of Physics Belgrade was co-founded in 1961. The IP has permanent faculty of more than 100 research scientists organized into eight Departments, four Laboratories and four Centres:
The IP maintains strong ties with many similar institutions worldwide. The principle institutions that have a long standing interaction with IP include the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, and the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva. There has been a long-standing collaboration with France through its National Center for Scientific research (CNRS), as well as directly through a host of its physics institutions. Apart from active relations with many top universities in the US, the Institute has taken part in improtant joint projects with National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST), and the National Scientific Foundation (NSF) in Washington DC.

The Scientific Computing Laboratory (SCL) sets before itself the goal to be one of the focal points for high performance computing in Serbia as well as in the region of South East Europe (SEE). In 2006 SCL was recognized as a EU Center of Excellence for Computational Modelling of Complex Systems (CX-CMCS). SCL is using Grid technology and taking active part in the European Union's e - infrastructure FP7 projects EGEE-III and SEE-GRID-SCL.
