Instrument Service

In order to abstract different kinds of instruments (weather stations, surface current radars and wind profilers) a design leveraging on a plug-in based framework is needed because of differences in both hardware interfaces and acquisition data rate. Targeting our final goal of instrument sharing on computing grids, the use of common accepted and wide spread technologies and tools as WSRF and the GT4 is a necessary approach, but some equipments are characterized by high sampling and producing data rates and a streaming protocol have to be used after the SOAP interaction set up the communication.
